Wangaratta Makers Market

The Wangaratta Makers Market and Farmers Market were held during our recent stay at the Painters Island Caravan Park in downtown Wangaratta.  I think this market is held on the second Saturday of each month and I would highly recommend you go along if you happen to be in the area.

What a pleasant surprise we had with the number of stalls set up in Apex Park selling their products.  Some of the stalls we visited:

• Mountain Fresh Trout and Salmon Farm - selling fresh trout, smoked trout, smoked salmon and smoked trout pate - yum
• Schloss wood castles and puzzles - amazing skill to create these beautiful objects
• Hereford patties from Grass Roots Beef (delicious)
• Pink Paddock for home made cards
• home grown tomatoes
• Potatoes direct form the farmer
• Pasta Adele - home made fettuccine including some gluten free pasta - Traditional Pasta
• spelt sourdough bread
• Gamze smokehouse for free range bacon with no added nitrate
• hand made jewelry

The markets had live music from two different bands, a children's jumping castle, coffee, barbeque sandwiches, snacks, plants, fresh fruit and vegetables as well as a whole range of interesting hand made goodies.

This is the best market I have been to for a long time.
