The Apex Park in Wangaratta is a lovely large public park in the centre of town - access via Clements Street. This park was close to our caravan at the Painters Island Caravan Park and within walking distance to the mains shopping centre.
Apex park has a large covered seating area with plenty of grass for the kids to run around. The Murray to Mountains Rail Trail is a wonderful push bike riding track that runs along the edge of the park - you are able to ride all the way to Bright if you wish.
The park sits alongside the Ovens River and continues under the main road with lots of walking tracks and picnic tables. Alongside the park is a water filling station where you can collect water for stock or filling tanks - this is coin operated.
