Bicentennial Park sits along the banks of the Peel River in Tamworth and is accessed via Kable Avenue. There are walking tracks that meander through the park built as a memorial to our service men and women.
The Man-O-War Gates (entry to the park from Kable Avenue) originally stood at the naval jetty at Farm Cove, Sydney Harbour. They stood over steps that were used as a landing point for Australian and British sailors in peacetime and during war.
Bicentennial Park houses a lovely bronze sculpture of a 'Waler' horse used by the Australian Light Horse Brigade.
