Marong is a small place near Bendigo in Victoria. We stay at the BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park which is a really lovely caravan park on the Calder Highway. Everything is neat and tidy and there are a number of great children's activities - flying fox, rope climbing, playground, jumping pillow, swimming pool, recreation room etc. This is a great place to use as a base to explore the Bendigo area - highly recommended.
While staying in Marong we had dinner at the Marong Family Hotel (MFH) which is walking distance to the caravan park. Their signature dishes consist of lamb from a property the hotel’s owners have nearby. So of course we had to try lamb – Mediterranean Lamb Rump and Lamb souvlaki. Both were delicious. There are a range of other meals including schnitzels, hamburgers and pizza.
Marong has a golf course, school, post office, caravan repair shop and a range of other services.
