Pyrenees Pies - Avoca

During a recent caravan trip from Maryborough to Halls Gap in Victoria we stopped at Avoca for morning tea. We had coffee at the famous Pyrenees Pies Shop and Bakery. Tables are provided inside the shop so you can sit and enjoy a cuppa while watching the road trains travelling through town. This place also sells a range of takeaway food including hamburgers as well as their large range of interesting pies - crocodile, emu etc.  There are newspaper articles displayed on the wall about the creation of the various pies and how crocodile pies are more popular with tourists than locals.

Avoca has a very wide main street with a large median strip along the centre housing public toilets, lovely gardens and sculptures. No problems finding a car parking space while towing the caravan.
