Milang a small place on Lake Alexandrina which is a large freshwater lake at the mouth of the Murray River in South Australia. Milang Caravan Park is across the road from the beautiful parkland along the shores of the lake with a jetty, public toilets, children's playground and plenty of parking.
Shopping in town consists of a baker, mini mart, takeaway shop, chemist, cafe, auto shop, hotel etc. - all within walking distance. Like most river towns Milang began its days during the paddle steamer era and a few buildings of the period remain along with the restored railway station and carriages.
Milang is very busy during holiday times as it is only one hours drive from Adelaide and perfect for sailing, windsurfing, power-boating and water-skiing, kite sailing, fishing and swimming. There are a a number of wineries in the area and the famous Newman's Horseradish Farm is close by at Longhorne Creek. This seems like a beautiful quiet little country town and the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed holiday.
