The Bedrock Village Caravan Park and Tours is located in the small historic town of Mount Surprise. We had been told that this park was created in a unique way and we wanted to call in and have a look for ourselves. Joe and Jo Lockyer designed and built this park in 1998 on a nine acre bush block - what a great place to base yourself and explore the area. In this region you can visit cattle stations, gorges, see the Savannahlander train, visit the Undara Lava Tubes or go fossicking for gemstones. The Bedrock Village run a variety of tours.
Great facilities provided at the Bedrock Village:
We enjoyed a hamburger for lunch before walking around the village to take photos - this park is very welcoming. During the tourist season they offer affordable homemade evening meals if you would like a night away from cooking - these are served in the outdoor dining area. The shop sells some groceries and has a range of souvenirs and local artwork, as well as a book exchange area. The dump point is located in Mount Surprise.
