Babinda is a small town located along the Bruce Highway approximately 60 kilometres South of Cairns - you can't miss the Visitor Information Centre housed in a brightly coloured cottage near the main street.
What a lovely place to visit and find out about the local area. We were greeted warmly by the lady on duty and obtained some great local knowledge about places to visit and where to stay in the caravan.
The main attractions of the Babinda Boulders and Josephine Falls which are some of the most beautiful attractions of Northern Queensland. Well worth a visit.
Babinda Bakery is a must for great pies and sausage rolls - I also purchased locally made Worcestershire Sauce and vanilla extract. There are two free camping areas with very good facilities - one at the Babinda Boulders and one across the highway from the VIC alongside the river. Both of these were well maintained and looked extremely comfortable to spend the night.
