Surfers Beach known as The Dunes can be accessed by taking the Yardie Creek Road west towards the Vlamingh Lighthouse, then turn onto Mildura Wreck Road. A short track from this road into the first carpark on the left will lead you to Surfers Beach. It is located approximately 17km from Exmouth, and probably the most popular beach for surfers in Exmouth.
We drove out to look at SS Mildura Wreck off the point and Surfers Beach on the way home. There were turtles very close to the shore and it great to sit up on the dunes and watch them swimming in the water. We also saw two whales breach in the distance - a wonderful afternoon exploring the coast.
