SA-WA Border

Quarantine is taken very seriously when travelling between the States of Australia. As you head east across the Nullarbor from West Australia the quarantine station is located at Ceduna.  

When heading west the quarantine station is located at Border Village on the South Australian/West Australian Border. Make sure you are aware of the products you can and cannot take into each state - this varies. The quarantine officers will ask to check inside your caravan and fridges.

We spoke to fellow travellers who had been told to keep the supermarket receipt for the fruit and vegetables they had purchased prior to crossing the border. This was misleading as they had all the newly purchased produce confiscated. My advice is to err on the side of caution and shop once you have passed the check point (help protect these important agriculture industries by not introducing unwanted pests).
