We purchased the AR Drone to capture aerial views while travelling around Australia. We also purchased a spare battery, as flying time only lasts 7 to 10 minutes, and a GPS unit to help the AR Drone navigate remote areas and automatically return to us when finished.
Control is via a smart phone or tablet. We have found the iPad Air is the best and most convenient to use as a controller (also tried Sony Experia Z and ASUS Andriod tablets, an old iPad and an iPhone 4s).
The AR Drone App, 'Free Flight' is easy to use and to setup.
We are very keen to push the AR Drone's boundaries. Stay tuned for an update as we are still testing the unit and will publish our results soon.
