As you can see from the photos, Harvey Bay Marina is a popular spot and this is where you will catch the ferry to Fraser Island. There are plenty of accommodation choices near the marina with up-market apartments and a 4 star Breakfree Great Sandy Straits Resort as well as a caravan park just across the road.
The Hervey Bay Boat Club is located next to the Marina and we found this a great place to enjoy a drink and meal while enjoying the views across the water.
NOTE: the Marina has a 24 hour fuel outlet which seemed to be the cheapest in town - credit card only.
