Ellis Beach is a small place between Cairns to Port Douglas on the Captain Cook Highway. This is a fairly narrow and has plenty of bends and we were travelling in the rain towing our caravan - there a some pull over areas for slower vehicles to allow cars to pass.
There are bungalows on the beach at Ellis Beach overlooking the Coral Sea - great views in a very special location. We also saw a campground and couple of pubs/restaurants which seemed to be very busy. This looks like a great spot to stop and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of far north Queensland.
