Tropic of Capricorn Rest Area

You guessed it - the Tropic of Capricorn Rest Area is on the Tropic of Capricorn as you travel along the Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory. This is a convenient place to stop between Tennant Creek and Alice Springs that allows 24 hour overnight camping.

There are covered picnic tables, toilet facilities, barbeques (check fire bans), garbage bins and a water tank (not sure of the quality). Someone had left their walker behind at this rest area and we wondered how long it would take them to find out - I guess at the next stop.

This was a neat and tidy rest area.
