Jalmurark Camping Area - Mataranka

Jalmurark Camping Area, at 12 Mile Yards, is located near Mataranka. The unpowered sites are separated by bush and can be very private. The amenities block is solar powered with flushing toilets and is fully fenced to keep the kangaroos out. Fire places with wood are provided as well as gas barbeques - depends on what sort of cooking you want to do (or if there is a total fire ban).

Near this Camping area is a boat ramp into the Roper River if you want to do a spot of fishing. There is a small fee for camping the night and you will find a number of bush walks to enjoy around the area with good signage. We walked to Mataranka Falls and this was about a 10 kilometre round trip from Jalmurark Camping Ground - allow plenty of time as the track can be very sandy.
