We enjoy visiting this lovely country town near the Hunter Valley of NSW and regularly call into the Singleton Visitor Information Centre to get a quick update on what is going on around the local area. The Singleton Visitor Information and Enterprise Centre is conveniently located on the New England Highway within Townhead Park. Access from the main road with barbecue facilities, picnic tables, public toilets, disabled facilities, as well as easy parking for cars and long vehicles.
We found the staff to be friendly and helpful with maps, local brochures, accommodation option and tour bookings as well as information on upcoming events. They sell a range of locally made gifts and produce - I found some wonderful local Gluten Free Biscuits. During our last visit we headed out to the Hunter Valley Wine and Food Festival and spent a lovely day enjoying local wine, beer and cheese while chatting to the local producers. Highly recommended
Singleton sits on the banks of the Hunter River with re-vamped shopping precinct and a number of historical buildings to explore. A brochure is available from the VIC to help you find the Singleton Historic Society Museum, the Sacred Spaces Museum at the Convent of the Sisters of Mercy and the Royal Australian Infantry Corps Museum at the nearby barracks just outside town.
