Little Beach is small beach at the mouth of the Corindi River along the coast of NSW - about 40 kilometres north of Coffs Harbour. This lovely beach is a short walk from the Red Rock Holiday Park and the town and has some shady spots protected from the breeze between rocks on the foreshore. These rocks are a deep red colour and I am guessing that this is what inspired the name of Red Rock for the town.
The waters in the mouth of the river are subjected to strong tidal flows, in particular the falling tide flowing seaward in deep channels. We have learned from experience that the currents can be quite strong - stay safe.
Red Rock is a popular location offering creek, beach and rock fishing, as well as boat launching in the river - the bar (at the mouth of the river) can be hazardous to cross if heading outside. The creek is fished for mullet, bream, flathead and whiting, while the headland is fished for snapper, tailor, groper, kingfish, mackeral and tuna.
