Boggabri is a small country town in NSW on the Kamilaroi Highway between Gunnedah and Narrabri. On our recent trip through this part of the country we stopped at Boggabri for a look around - the streets are wide and there were plenty of places to park while towing the caravan.
A lovely main street with timber surrounds on gardens on either side. This is a very small town with only a few shops but we enjoyed looking at some lovely old buildings so we walked around the central part of town. One such building caught our eye and that was Vault Restaurant and Accommodation - housed in a beautiful old brick building on Merton Street – opened in 1913. This was a bank building that has been restored and renovated to its original condition - very elegant.
The Boggaabri Caravan Park and Cabins are located on Laidlaw Street - this is only small but has all facilities.
I understand this town comes alive during April when they hold the Boggabri Drovers weekend with shearing demonstrations, antique machinery displays, bush poetry and entertainment as well as markets with local craft and produce for sale.
