Armidale is a beautiful city in the New England area of NSW about 110 kilometres north of Tamworth along the New England Highway. It is full of historical buildings and the streets come to life in Autumn as the leaves change colours - I love this time of year (not too hot and not too cold). This is of course home to the University of New England which has a large campus within the town attracting thousands of students each year.
The Armidale Visitor Information Centre can be found in the CBD area on Marsh Street and alongside beautiful parkland surrounding Dumaresq Creek. There are plenty of car parking spaces, conveniently next to a fast foot outlet and service station. There are public toilets at the visitor information centre. Of course you will find maps, brochures and great local knowledge of the city and surrounding areas.
Armidale is close to a number of national parks - some featuring beautiful waterfalls - travel along Waterfall Way to visit Ebor Falls in the Guy Fawkes River National Park (just one example). There are plenty of things to see and do in Armidale and we never tire of visiting this vibrant city with great coffee shops, restaurants and hotels.
