Our two-bedroom superior cabins offer top-of-the-range accommodation, boasting plenty of room to spread out. They feature a queen bed in the main bedroom, and two single bunk beds in the second bedroom. Linen and towels are provided on the queen bed, and linen is available on request for additional beds at an additional fee. The cabins have a full kitchen with oven, full-size fridge and microwave, large lounge area with two couches, dining area, two televisions, DVD player, and Foxtel on the main television. You will find a large deck at the front of the cabin with a barbecue and outdoor setting, all overlooking the pool and playground.
We called in to stay at the BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park on the Calder Highway about 15 kilometres from the Bendigo CBD. How lovely to drive into this well maintained and welcoming caravan park in Victoria. The first cabin we were given access to was the Superior (6 berth) Cabin - Number C11 on their map. Wow, what a well presented living area with leather lounges and leather covered seats at the large dining room table. Air conditioner and TV are provided in this open area with a lovely kitchen providing plenty of bench space.
The kitchen is well featured with coffee pod machine, gas cooktop, under bench oven, microwave and ample plates, pots and pans – even coloured plastic cups for the children. Two stool seats sit at the kitchen bench as extra seating if you need to feed young ones early. Pantry cupboard and fridge are located on the other side of the walkway and sit either side of the door to the bathroom. I noticed that the ice tray was full and ready for the next guests - great to have a cold drink on arrival.
This cabin has an all in one bathroom – light and airy with soap, shampoo and conditioner provided. Added touch of a hair dryer mounted on the wall and a shower caddy hanging in the shower cubicle.
Main bedroom has a queen bed air conditioning, bedside tables, TV and wardrobe shelves and hanging space - you will find the ironing board in this cupboard. Reading lights on wall for that holiday book you've been saving. The second bedroom has two double bunks in an L-shaped configuration.
The Superior cabin has a large deck with lovely timber outdoor dining setting for six people and private barbeque. I noticed that there were barbeque cleaning wipes in the kitchen with long tongs – a very good thought. The deck is fully covered with a shade to help block the afternoon sun and it leads down some stairs to the large car parking area.
This deck overlooks the beautiful children’s playground and swimming pool area - a great spot to stay with children. The sand pit even has a range of toys for the children to play with.
